Marriage & Family Therapy Solutions

March 2022 marks the observance of Women’s History Month, an annual celebration of the vital role of women in history, past and present.

Women Carry An Undue Mental Health Burden. They Shouldn’t Have To.

Like so many other global health issues, the burdens of mental health fall hardest on women. Building a more equitable world means acknowledging — and addressing — that gap.

This month. we want to share resources to support the mental health of women.

From Other National Organizations

American Psychological Association

Mental Health America

National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH)

Office on Women’s Health

We also want to call on mental health providers to support the cause.  Marriage and Family Therapy Solutions (MFTS) has partnered with the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) through a grant to implement the Equity at Intercept 0 project.  Our aim is to develop a cadre of BIPOC Behavioral Health Providers to support the Crisis Model in the Greater Prince Williams Area.

If you would like to hear more about how you can help answer the call to improve the quality of behavioral health crisis response in the Greater Prince William Area, please contact us at Laurie.wilson@mftsva.com and sign up here for our Newsletter.
