What’s new?   Marcus Alert 911 Diversion Services

The Prince William County, Manassas Park, and Manassas City Police Department are participating with Virginia’s Marcus Alert System through the Smart911 and RapidSOS Platform. This 9- 1-1 technology will improve services to citizens experiencing mental health-related emergencies.

The nation’s 9-1-1 infrastructure was built in the 1960s for landline phones, which required individuals to verbally speak critical data to responders in an emergency. To address this challenge, the Smart911 RapidSOS emergency response data platform will link real-time health and location information from connected devices, apps, and profiles with 9-1-1. This new feature will convey critical health information beyond what the caller in crisis is able to convey. This data helps police departments accelerate response and provides first responders with life-saving information when responding to 9-1-1 calls.

Residents now have the ability to create a free Emergency Health Profile at emergencyprofile.org to share opt-in medical information with the Prince William County and Manassas City Police Department in the case of an emergency. Emergency technology company Smart 911 and RapidSOS.

  • Smart911 is active in  Prince Williams County and the City of Manassas Park
  • RapidSOS is active in the City of Manassas
